Salah Tracker - Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
Salah Tracker ("the app") is published by Diloop Studios. The app is listed on Google Play as Namaz Salah & Fasting Tracker (package name: diloopstudios.com.salahtracker). We built the app so your prayer, fasting, and reflection data stays private and under your control.
You choose where your data lives
Your worship data (prayer logs, fasting records, journal entries, qaza tracking, mood notes, and settings) is stored on your phone by default. You decide whether to keep it only on this device, export copies to files you pick, or use optional encrypted backup to Google Drive. We do not operate a central server that stores or syncs your worship logs.
Data stored on your device
Active data lives in an on-device database and app files on your phone. We do not receive copies of this data unless you export or back it up yourself.
Optional local backups
In More → Backup & restore you can:
- Turn on automatic daily backup (keeps up to 7 rolling restore points on the device)
- Save a backup now to on-device storage
- Export JSON or an encrypted ZIP to a folder or file you choose with Android's document picker
- Import or restore from a backup you select (restore replaces current worship data on this device after you confirm)
Optional Google Drive backup
If you sign in with Google and turn on daily encrypted upload, encrypted backup ZIP files are uploaded to your Google Drive application data folder (visible only to this app through the Google Drive API; not shown in your normal Drive file list). We do not receive your Google password. Google's privacy policy applies to data in your Google account.
When Drive backup is enabled, the app uploads at most once per day and keeps up to 7 remote backup files. Each time a new backup is uploaded, the app deletes older backup files through the Google Drive API so only the 7 most recent copies remain. If you turn off daily upload or disconnect your Google account, no new uploads run and automatic pruning stops—any backups already in your Google account stay there until you remove them as described below.
Disconnecting your Google account in Backup & restore stops further uploads but does not by itself delete files already stored in your Google account. Uninstalling the app or clearing the app's storage on your phone also does not delete Google Drive backups.
The app does not include a separate "delete all Drive backups" button. Removal of Drive copies is through automatic pruning while uploads are on, or through your Google account settings after you disconnect.
What we do not do
- No ads or ad tracking
- No sale of personal data
- No social features or public profiles
- No AI analysis of your journal
Prayer times and location
Prayer schedules use your chosen calculation method and location or coordinates you provide. Requests to third-party prayer-time services (for example Aladhan) send only the parameters needed for schedules, not your journal or prayer notes.
Qibla finder may use your device location or coordinates you enter to show direction to the Kaaba. That data is used on your device for the feature; we do not sell it.
Notifications
Prayer reminders are scheduled on your device. You can turn off reminders or precise alarms in Android system settings at any time.
How long we retain your data
Diloop Studios does not collect or host your worship data on our servers, so we have no separate cloud copy to retain or delete.
- On your phone: Data stays until you delete it in the app, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app.
- On-device restore points: If automatic daily backup is on, we keep up to 7 recent backups on the device; older restore points are deleted automatically when new ones are created.
- Files you export: JSON or encrypted ZIP files you save with the document picker stay wherever you put them until you delete those files yourself.
- Google Drive (optional): If enabled, up to 7 encrypted backups remain in your Google account's private app folder until you turn off uploads, remove the app's access to your Google account, or older files are pruned when new backups upload.
How to delete your data
Because you control storage, you can delete data at any time:
Delete on this phone
- Remove individual journal entries inside the app.
- Delete an extra profile in More → Profiles (when you have more than one profile).
- Replace all worship data on the device by restoring from a backup (after exporting first if you want to keep a copy).
- Delete everything on the device: Android Settings → Apps → Namaz Salah & Fasting Tracker (or Salah Tracker) → Storage → Clear storage, or uninstall the app. This removes the database, on-device restore points, and app preferences on that phone.
Delete exported copies
Delete any JSON or encrypted ZIP files you saved through Backup & restore from your phone's files, SD card, or cloud storage where you stored them.
Stop or remove Google Drive backups
- Open More → Backup & restore → turn off Daily encrypted upload, then Disconnect Google account to stop new uploads and automatic pruning.
- While uploads are still enabled: older Drive backups are deleted automatically when a newer backup is saved (only the latest 7 are kept).
- After you disconnect: backups already in your Google account's private app folder remain until you revoke this app's access. They are not visible in your normal Drive file list.
- To remove those remaining copies: revoke this app's access under Google Account → Security → Third-party apps with account access (wording may vary on your device). Google controls deletion of data held in your account; see Google's help for managing connected apps and app data.
- Uninstalling the app or using Android Settings → Clear storage removes data on your phone only; it does not delete Google Drive backups.
We do not maintain a separate copy of your worship data to delete on your behalf.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we edit this post.
